Scientific responsibilites have been broad and varied:

  • Exploration Applications – detailed reservoir correlation, seismic facies and distribution, regional and local sequence stratigraphic studies, prospect generation, risk and resource estimations, landsale evaluations, and exploration well services.

Geological Disciplines – sequence stratigraphy and seismic interpretation, palynology, macrobotany, biosequences, and organic petrology.

Stratigraphic Expertise – principally Mesozoic and Cenozoic periods as well as Paleozoic.

Geographic Expertise – principally the eastern offshore, Western Interior, Mackenzie/
Beaufort of Canada, Alaska and other frontier areas of North America, as well as South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

  • Computerization integral in acquisition, manipulation and display of data, and report writing. Utilization of Landmark products, (esp. Seisworks & Stratworks) and Microsoft Office products.

Developed comprehensive sequence stratigraphic framework for Jurassic to Early Tertiary of the Jeanne d’Arc Basin and Flemish Pass, offshore Eastern Canada including geological, seismic, facies, log motif and biostratigraphic intepretation.

Application of biostratigraphic concepts to sequence stratigraphy of the Mesozoic-Tertiaryof the offshore Eastern Canada, Gulf of Mexico, Mackenzie Delta, Beaufort Sea and Equador. Developed detailed palynological zonations for Jurassic to Cretaceous of offshore Eastern Canada, Western Interior, Arctic Islands, Yukon, Mackenzie Delta, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and North Sea. Reconstruction of paleoenvironments in Mesozoic and Quaternary sediments.

Over 100 publications on Mesozoic and Cenozoic on world-wide geological, biostratigraphic and taxonomic topics with the emphasis on North America.

Management responsibilities have comprised design, fiscal and resource management of geological and biostratigraphical projects; exploration well proposals and monitoring; laboratory and office supervision of personnel; procedures, materials and design; developing clientele; estimating, proposing and securing contracts.
